LOOKING FOR IN-A-BOX AND / OR OUT-OF-THE-BOX SOLUTIONS USING GAMES AND GAMIFICATION?
Looking for innovation through play?
Our in-a-box solutions provide structured, off-the-shelf games that are ready for immediate use, perfect for fast implementation and consistent learning outcomes. On the other hand, our out-of-the-box approaches use customized game designs and gamification tools to solve unique educational or business challenges and inspire creative thinking.
Both approaches help leverage the power of gamification to boost engagement, whether you need a plug-and-play tool or a bespoke experience tailored to your needs.
Bespoke Game Design
We can create or customize serious games to your needs and context. We are a team of multidisciplinary people, and we love games. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are not afraid of complexity, and we would love to work with you to solve your specific problem through serious games – if that is what you need. There are 7 phases to our process:
The iterative design process requires your involvement at several stages to ensure the final product truly addresses your needs. In summary, we don’t follow Black-box design principles but are very transparent with the client and ensure that not only are they informed at every step of the process but are active participants in our iterative design process to avoid expectation-mismatch that can otherwise result in time and budget increases.
OUR 7 PHASE PROCESS
1. Understand the problem
Listen and understand the problem deeply, create a joint problem statement as well as defined learning objectives that we sign off on before we begin phase 2 – the solution brainstorm process.
2. Solution Brainstorm process
This is mostly a creative concept design process that will try to solve the identified problem in the best possible way.
3. Create a prototype
Create a prototype ensuring that the learning goals are intact while creating an avenue to learning through play.
4. Client-only test of the prototype
The prototype is tested solely with the client and the design is tweaked, if necessary, after getting your first look feedback
5. Live deployment-test phase
Here we ensure Design changes from the previous client-only test are incorporated before we test the prototype with target audience.
6. Experience analysis & final iteration phase
Iteration of the Design based on Deployment-test observations as well as feedback from client and target audience.
7. Finalize
Finalize the product for market-release and deliver product.
Workshops
Our Own Games
ESHIP:
Navigating Uncertainty
How to navigate entrepreneurial uncertainty via design thinking. This game is also good as a team building exercise where players can ideate over any problem as this game is a good ideation tool. It can also be used as an icebreaker for teams where people already do not know each other.
GRANTED:
The Research Grant Game
This could be relevant if you are looking to develop multi-party grant proposals. The game helps go from a Grant call to a skeletal grant proposal in just about 3h while also understanding and dealing with uncertainties (internal as well as external) that usually impact the grant-writing process.
OI:
Are you ready?
The game tests readiness of pharma executives in implementing Open innovation in the company. While designed with input from the pharmaceutical industry, the game can be easily tailored to any industry.
Future of work
Brings potential employers and employees together to playfully imagine their future selves and go through role reversals and thereby assess the perspective expectation divide. It can also be a fun event to add to your career-day events.
Leap in Time:
The Patent Game
Players go through a digital escape room to overcome the barrier of accessing & reading patents and treating patents for what they are – a fundamental source of information on innovation that is already there and research that has already taken place.
Pactopolis:
Where Smart Negotiation Meets Sustainable Innovation
Our brand-new negotiation game that takes the players through a scenario where they test their skills at negotiating deals. The players will learn about different types of negotiations and how to get better at negotiating.
Tailored Workshops
If you have an idea of what learning you want to impart through your workshop, and want a different approach to a workshop, contact us and we will design a gamified workshop to suit your needs.
When we run workshops for you, we come prepared for your students/employees. We take care of the material; the pre- and post-game debriefs and discussions.
Our process:
We work together to identify your needs, align on key objectives for the workshop, and outline the desired outcomes and impact.
We tailor the workshops with respect to the content and the time available for the workshop.
We show up to the workshop venue and hold the workshop with ample time for discussions and Q&A. We also prefer that clients set aside time for pre-game and post-game debriefs.
Consulting and Partnerships
At Biosymfonix, we are at the forefront of transforming education with cutting-edge solutions that inspire, engage, and empower learners. We specialize in integrating serious games and gamification strategies, especially for complex topics, tailored to the unique needs of the educational sector.
Whether you’re an educational institution, a learning platform, or a corporate training provider, we offer expertise in designing immersive, interactive experiences that go beyond traditional learning methods. By blending game mechanics with educational content, we create dynamic environments where students are motivated to achieve their learning goals while having fun.
Our Solutions
Gamification
Collaborating with tech developers, educators, and organizations, we build scalable and impactful gamified learning solutions that make education more engaging, relevant, and effective.
Savvygoat is a digital learning platform providing autonomous, team-based learning experiences. We collaborated with them to enhance their value proposition by incorporating contextualized gamification, thus designing to align closely with the learning objectives. Where necessary, we advised scaling back game elements that didn’t add value or detracted from the learning goals.
Moving away from the typical Points, Badges, and Leaderboard (PBL) gamification, we implemented strategies promoting deeper and more meaningful interaction with the platform, making it better suited for long-term use, such as over the course of a semester. As a result, students demonstrated higher levels of sustained engagement.
Serious Games Development
Custom-designed games that focus on specific educational outcomes, enhancing learning through simulation, role-play, and problem-solving.
Leap in Time
The Patent game was created on request from EIT Food. Biosymfonix collaborated with EIT Food, Aarhus University, University of Warsaw and Grendel Games to create this game. Our responsibility was to understand the educational problem, the learning goals, the complexity of the topic at hand, and how to break it down into digestible format. Grendel Games brought this digital game to life.
